Monday Motivation

I don’t need motivation on a Monday – I need it every day!

We are not all perfect as we all suffer from some form of depression, despair, doubt, self pity etc. I know as I alternate these emotions being a single mother of four and a small business owner but I get up and dress up as if I am going to meet my mother in law everyday! Every woman needs a man to love right? I mean… love conquers all! That’s motivation…

In all my 45 years, the last seven years have been hell and I pray that that cycle is over now. In a nutshell, I have been married and divorced twice, the second time when I was seven months pregnant and four hours later my dad passed away. I resigned from a promising career to pursue my own business as I chose to be in an Islamic environment. I choose not to dwell on the bad things that have happened since, as I need to be an example to my daughters on a daily basis.

It is important to look well because if you look well you will feel better too. It is important to have an attitude of gratitude because then you will attract abundance in your life.

Motivation is internal! Like resilience (falling down seven times and getting up eight times), it is something we have to do ourselves and for ourselves. People love surrounding themselves with happiness and positivity… it is a great space to be in even during tough times! I try that all the time, as I do not wish to be a depressive manic worrying about problems that I cannot solve immediately. I have a wonderful day everyday and I do that by waking up being very grateful! I share my story and use it to motivate other women when they think their world is about to crumble. You see, if you are grateful, you become more positive and that energy becomes contagious.

The only way to motivate yourself is to decide that you do not want your fears and depression to isolate you. It is to remove yourself from all anxiety and focus on turning challenges into opportunities. It’s an incredible journey when you take that first step to happiness and only you can.

Smile. Let everyone know that today, you are a lot stronger than yesterday.
