“There is no object so foul that intense light will not make it beautiful.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

How we feel about ourselves can influence how we live our lives and it all begins with the thoughts we keep. Our minds create the world we perceive and it uses this perception to justify our feelings of anger, self hate, criticism and resentment and so we find ourselves stuck in victim mode, on the attack and looking for someone else to blame. How can I blame myself for the situation I am in you ask? It does not make sense, it has to be somebody else’s fault. Sound familiar? Alas! Don’t feel alone this happens to most of us on a daily basis.

The way I see it, you are in essence seeing your world through your thoughts and if your thoughts are based on your perception about the world around you, you will notice that most of the time it is just your interpretation and not facts. So, now can you see why things become unstable, inaccurate and confusing all at once? Yeah me too… all created by… wait for it… YOURSELF.

Your perception and what you believe about your life becomes true for you. One has to then begin to understand that the issues and problems surrounding our lives are created by the idea that we carry around inside of us.  We are not what we have, what our “titles” are or what others want and expect us to be.

How do we correct this mistake in our thinking? Firstly, by realizing that it is a mistake and a mistake can be corrected or if you want, it is a thought and a thought can be changed.

“If we deny our good in anyway it is an act of not loving ourselves” ~Louise Hay
