Hello and welcome to the fabulous life of me 🙂
I am back in the UAE and boy have I missed this place.
It was a completely different experience exiting the airport and being able to breathe😂
If anyone of you heard my first time arriving in Dubai story you would understand my relief 🙈
I wasn’t able to breathe, it was scorching hot at around 3am when I arrived for the very first time. The heart of summer. Being the dramatic person I am, I panicked and hyperventilated 😭 it wasn’t the best experience.
I did however manage to learn the technique of breathing here eventually 😂 summer is just unbearable and I’m so happy that it’s winter now, which can be best described as a normal South African summer experience lol because it doesn’t get cold here 😂 at all…
Dubai is a beautiful city but I do not live there 💁 I live in Sharjah, which is also one of the emirates of the UAE. The culture mainly revolves around the religion of Islam and traditional arab culture.
However, Islamic dress code is not compulsory, but they do expect a level of modest dress 💭 The dress code is actually part of criminal law 🙊
But that doesn’t matter because I do not mind covering up and I have this recent obsession with the abaya styles in the UAE 😍 and I could not resist! This is my favourite abaya.
The design, fabric and fit is incredible. This is currently my “go to” and “oh I’m so late” outfit 🙈 you just can not go wrong with this and just the way it covers up is perfect for any muslimah❤️
Don’t think I don’t have clothes😂 I am just in love 😍😜
So, I am back, and I really want to make the most of embracing the arab culture and learn to speak a little bit of Arabic 😄 it’s times like this when I kick myself for not paying attention in Arabic class 😜 5 years and nothing to show for it 😭 well, I can read and write😂
This was basically just a random post to test out picture uploading on the blog which was suggested by my readers 🙂 so if this works you can be expecting visuals 😂
Learning is compulsory, life is full of lessons and I am all for it 🎓
Wish me good luck!
